1. There is no caffeine in it at all

Not less caffeine. None. The front of the pack says caffeine-free, and there is no coffee bean in the ingredient list. The base is roasted organic chicory root and mesquite, which is where the dark colour and the roasted taste come from. If you are keeping the cup but want the caffeine out of the afternoon, this is the whole point of the product.

2. 3,000mg of mushrooms per serving, and here is what that number means

Every 2 teaspoon serving carries 3,000mg of Lion's Mane, Reishi and Cordyceps. That figure is a dried-mushroom equivalency, not the weight of powder in the bag. The extracts are concentrated, so a smaller weight of extract stands in for a larger weight of dried mushroom. We say so plainly because the number means nothing unless you know the basis it is stated on.

3. Every mushroom on the panel says fruiting body

Read the blend line on the Supplement Facts. It says organic Lion's Mane (fruiting body), organic Reishi (fruiting body), organic Cordyceps (fruiting body). The fruiting body is the mushroom itself, the part that grows above the ground. It is printed on the panel so you can check it against any other tin in your cupboard rather than take our word for it.

4. Three mushrooms, chosen for three different reasons

Lion's Mane fruiting body is rich in hericenones and beta-glucans. Reishi carries triterpenes and beta-glucans. Cordyceps is the third. They are dual-extracted, which means both a water and an alcohol pass, because some of the compounds in a mushroom are water-soluble and some are not. One pass leaves half of it behind.

5. The finished bag goes to an outside lab

Finished Fungki lots are sent to an ISO 17025 accredited lab and screened for aflatoxins, ochratoxin A, heavy metals and a pesticide panel. The certificate for lot 09759 is dated 23 October 2025 and is on file. Ask us for it and we will send it. Rainbo has also been a certified B Corporation since December 2021, with a score of 97.2.

6. It brews in a mug, so the ritual survives

Two teaspoons in a mug, eight ounces of hot water or milk, stir. No machine, no filter, no grinder. That is the reason people who like their morning cup stay with it: the shape of the habit does not change, only what is in the mug. It works iced too.

The ritual, without the coffee

It's creamy and delicious, and I love the ritual of brewing this instead of coffee in the morning!

Instead of more caffeine

Love it, I just have it black with a lil cinnamon. Gives me my afternoon boost instead of reaching for more caffeine.

Replaced the morning cup

I really love the taste of Fungki mixed with Fungki coffee. Didn't think anything would ever replace my morning coffee but I enjoy this much more.

Not my flavour

There wasn't anything wrong with the product but it just wasn't my flavour palette. There was a particular taste, perhaps the hickory, that was too sweet for me.

Have it in a monthly order so I never run out.

Questions people ask before the first bag

Is there really no caffeine?

None. The pack is labelled caffeine-free and there is no coffee bean in it. The roasted taste comes from organic chicory root and mesquite. If you want a cup with caffeine in it, that is Fungki Coffee, a different product with 44mg.

What does it taste like?

Roasted and a little sweet, closer to a dark roast than to tea, with vanilla and Ceylon cinnamon in the blend. Reviews are consistent that it does taste good, and the honest exception is above: one reviewer found the sweetness too much.

How do I make it?

Two teaspoons in a mug, eight ounces of hot water or milk, stir. It also works iced. A bag holds 30 servings.

What does 3,000mg actually refer to?

It is the dried-mushroom equivalent per 2 teaspoon serving, not the weight of powder in the bag. The extracts are concentrated, so a smaller weight of extract stands in for a larger weight of dried mushroom. The Supplement Facts panel lists the blend at 3.1g.

How does the subscription work?

A subscription saves 25% and ships free, delivered every 30, 60 or 90 days. You choose the interval when you order. A one-time bag is $66.00 CAD.

What if I do not like it?
